The City of Callaway Florida, located just west across the DuPont Bridge from Tyndall Air Force Base. Callaway offers the hospitality of a small town while being a short drive from major shopping and beaches. Callaway offers an abundance of outdoor activities in the form of some beautiful water front Parks, Beaches, Fishing, and Sports.
John B. Gore park, provides a public boat ramp, two floating docks, picnic tables and a tennis court. The most used part of the park is the boat ramp, equipped with two floating docks, the ramp allows access to East Bay via Callaway Bayou. The ‘old’ Callaway Community Center located in the park is used primarily for meetings and social events and can be rented for private functions.
For the history buff, Gore Park is home to the “One Room Schoolhouse” and the Ellie Fox Memorial Museum. The old schoolhouse was active from 1911 until 1936 and much of Callaway’s history revolves around the location of the schoolhouse. The Ellie Fox Memorial Museum contains many interesting articles from a time long past.
The Callaway Sports Complex and Arts & Conference Center has multi-use fields for softball, baseball, soccer and football. The area also includes a playground and picnic area and fishing. The Arts and Conference Center is a modern faculty used for everything from commission meetings to wedding receptions.
Callaway is also home to one of two of the areas Super Wal-Mart. Across the street is the Galleria a new commercial development home to restaurants, including Starbucks and shops like Game Stop.
Callaway is just minutes from Tyndall AFB, Florida and offers numerous housing opportunities from Apartments to Newer subdivisions, from well maintained ranch homes to water front homes. Single family homes start at $125,000 and go up from there, water front being the most expensive.
